Despite massive efforts to pull the discoms out of the mud, progress has been maddeningly slowly
8The latest data for 2017-18 seems to show that the cost coverage ratio has stayed stagnant
8Some discoms have improved their cost coverage but others have slid down
819 discoms have shown an improvement in AT&C losses, but others have shown an increase
8Overall losses are down but not by as much as was anticipated
8After the initial spurt of enthusiasm, the Modi government is taking a more realistic view of how discoms will fare going ahead, particularly after the universal electrification drive is completed
