Power price in India: Renewables along with energy storage can stabilize the prices?
Oct 01: 8The Power prices have almost doubled in 2021 compared to 2020
8Last year, the minimum price was Rs1.64/kWh, the maximum Rs3.15/kWh and in the period 1 August to 22 September the average was Rs2.54/kWh.
8This year, the minimum price was Rs1.90/kWh, the maximum Rs9.81/kWh and the average for the corresponding period was Rs4.64/kWh.
8The high prices to some extent can be attributed to decline in renewable energy generation, in particular wind and hydro.
8The increase in future demand can be met through renewable energy along with flexible generation sources plus battery storage, the prices of which are higher for now and likely to go down in future
