8Project Description: The BTG contractor BHEL has completed the piling works in the boiler area for TANGEDCO's greenfield 1600 MW (2x800 MW) supercritical thermal power plant. The work got delayed due to issues connected with balance land acquisition issues. The civil works for the main plant area are in progress. Currently, BHEL has floated tenders for the erection, testing, commissioning and trial operation of the boiler and its auxiliary for unit -1. Bids will be opened on 30th January 2020. RFQ for the civil, structural, architectural, mechanical work including testing, commissioning and trial operation of the natural draught cooling tower is likely to be floated in Q2 2020.
