Rs 15000 crore super thermal power stations: Three in race for induced draught cooling tower package

Project Name: Super Greenfield Thermal Power Project 8Project Cost: 15000 crores 8Project Description: The EPC contractor BHEL along with sub-contractor Bygging India Limited is carrying out the RCC works in the chimney for the greenfield super thermal power project. BHEL has allotted Ion Exchange (India) Ltd for the condensate polishing unit in the units. Moreover, civil works at the main plant are in process. A bid for induced draught cooling tower package had been floated in which Paharpur Cooling Tower, Hamon Shriram Cottrell Pvt.Ltd., and Bridge & Roof Company Limited are the major contenders. The boiler erection works are yet to start. BHEL along with the supply of turbine auxiliaries has also won the bid for supply of WFGD for the project. While GE Power India will supply pressure parts equipment of the boiler at a cost of 467.9 crores. Unit-1 is expected to be synchronized by the end of 2021.
